30-ACRE (120,000 SQ. METERS) COASTAL
ECO-TOURISM RESORT SITE NEAR AYAMPE
This 30-acre (120,000 square
meter) ocean-front parcel near Ayampe on
the south central Pacific coast of Ecuador
comes complete with development plans. Named
Vindo Bona (Latin for Good Wind),
the project is designed to appeal both to
nature lovers and adventure sportsmen. Project
plans divide the property into two parts,
an eco-lodge resort and spa, and an area
of building lots to be sold to individual
buyers.
The property, which is ready
to develop, features a quarter-mile (400
meters) of ocean-front, and a small mangrove
forest surrounding a salt water lagoon.
The lagoon, which can be maintained year-round
from water wells already on the property,
attracts ducks, flamingos, osprey, sea gulls
and cormorants that feed on the small fish
and shrimp in the lagoon. The area around
the property is considered by many ornithologists
to offer the best bird watching in the world.
Two small rock islands and a submerged coral
reef several hundred yards offshore from
the property provide outstanding snorkeling
and diving.
Vindo Bona is 10 kilometers
from Machalilla Seaside National Park and
17 kilometers from the popular fishing village
of Puerto Lopez. It is situated on Ruta
del Sol, Ecuador’s primary Pacific coast
highway, and is bordered on the east, across
Ruta del Sol, by a coastal mountain range
and rain forest. The property buyer would
not be bound by existing plans for the property
but would be subject to Ecuadorian laws
that protect the mangroves, an endangered
species.
The area near the property
offers a wide variety of leisure and sports
activities including snorkeling, scuba diving,
ocean kayaking, hiking, bird watching, whale
watching, surfing, swimming, deep sea fishing,
wind surfing, hang gliding and mountain
biking.
